We have had the most wonderful first term back. We have all settled well and have enjoyed exploring our classrooms. We have practised our mark making skills using different materials to paint with indoors and outdoors.  We have spent plenty of time outside exploring our senses, this included a sensory walk, pumpkin picking and splashing in the puddles.

Early years have had a very busy term leading up to Christmas. We attended our school remembrance service and where a credit to our teachers showing our school value respect. We also celebrated the festival of light Divali and created our own Rangoli patterns in the dough. We put on a nursery rhyme performance for our families to celebrate world nursery rhyme week, Nursery went on an autumn walk and found The Gruffalo, and finally our reception children represented number bonds up to five in lots of different ways.

It has been super chilly this term, however you can see this has not stopped us from exploring outside. We have spent lots of time exploring the frosty ice. We joined in with the big bird watch and went bird spotting. We also celebrated Chinese New year, did you know it was the year of the rabbit?

This term we have had so much fun! We enjoyed celebrating pancake day and exploring the different textures when mixing pancakes with our hands. We then had the most wonderful time during world book day and enjoyed sharing lots of stories with our peers, teachers and our parents and carers. Our parents and carers came to school for our "come read with us session." It was very special, and we got to show them our favourite books. We also learnt all about the Easter story and created our own Easter bonnets to parade across the classroom!

WOW, what a term we have had. This term has been a busy one, full of amazing experiences. Our classrooms have been full of animals, we have observed the lifecycle of butterflies and ducks. We went on a school trip to the farm with our families, it was so much fun, we got to feed the animals. Nursery have learnt all about people who help us, the police came to visit us! We celebrated a big moment in history the king's coronation, we had our very own king in his royal carriage, and we went on a parade through school.
