Music

It is our vision at Halsnead Primary School that every child develops a lifelong love of music.

Our children will learn to play tuned and untuned instruments within lessons and will develop some understanding of musical terminology. They will have the chance to further their interests through individual instrument tuition and extra-curricular music groups such as choir.

Children will also be given the opportunity to listen to live music through our external music provider and other in-school and outside activities, such as assembly performances, workshops and concerts.

Regular music sessions in class will help children to improve their concentration and focusing skills as well as giving them opportunities to express their spirituality and develop a wider cultural understanding of music from around the world.
