Induction arrangements for new children and families
Nursery and Reception
When your child is allocated a place in our school, we offer a full induction process. All new Nursery and Reception parents are invited to attend an induction meeting. At this meeting you will have the chance to meet teachers, see classrooms and learn more about our wonderful school. All new Nursery children are visited in their home setting by members of the Nursery staff. Reception children attend an induction day when they will work and play in small groups with their new teacher so that they feel secure and happy as they start school.
In Year Transfers
For children who are new to our school during a school year, who may have transferred from another school, there is a full induction programme involving both parents and children. You will have chance to visit classrooms, meet the teachers and meet with the head of school. We will discuss our expectations as a school and talk about your child – their likes and dislikes, what they enjoy learning and any support educationally, socially or medically that they may need.
