Year 6 Staff

Year 6 Staff 1

We applied our knowledge of ratio to enlarge one of Mary Berry's recipes so that we could bake enough Banana bread for the Fairtrade Cafe on Wednesday.

Hope University students set us a task of building a tall tower. However, we didn't all have the same access to the resources we needed. Is this fair? We discussed fairtrade issues - it was very interesting.

In the morning sunshine, Year 6 worked collaboratively measuring and solving practical Maths challenges.

To celebrate National Storytelling Week we are reading a Maths book with a difference...

Classification taking place. What categories can you use in order to group different types of animals?

Year 6 were riveted by our visiting story teller who told us stories to celebrate Black History month.

We celebrated International Day of Peace by learning about Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream..' speech. Thoughtfully, we then wrote our own dreams for the future.

Debating is fun!

Our IPC topic Fit for Life has begun with a science experiment measuring the affect of exercise on our pulse.
